"Thought I Was the Only Bug Girl in the World is a series of paintings uncovering the otherness I experienced during adolescence. The images are adorned with script, showing the bombardment of thoughts I experienced when photographed. How I should smile, hold my body, if I looked "normal" or "happy" and much more guide the viewer into the isolating world view I experienced throughout much of my life. Through the aging of myself the viewer comes to find the presence of other "bug people" those who have made it known that they are a little bit strange just like me."
